Exactly! In early 2020, even as the pandemic was in the process of being officially proclaimed by WHO, smart money should have been invested in immediate intervention no matter how severe, to prevent the inevitable long-term economic loss - regardless of humanitarian concerns (of course, some people take no interest in that aspect).
